*Please note: We recommend external painting of your Dog House within 10-12 months to minimize timber movement and deterioration of timber due to exposure to weather elements. Humid environments may require timber to be painted within 3-4 weeks of assembly to protect from mould, rot or expansion. Due to the inherent nature of timber, some minor irregularities in the material should be expected.

Warranty Policy

Modern Pets offers free domestic shipping on orders over $99 to most metro cities and major regional centres across Australia (excluding oversized items). Please enter your suburb/ postcode above to check the shipping cost (if applicable) and estimated delivery date. Orders are typically dispatched from our Melbourne distribution centre within 1–2 business days.

Most parcels are delivered by Australia Post, though we occasionally work with other couriers. The timing of your delivery will depend on the method you choose. For those who opt for Express post, you can expect your items to arrive the following day after shipping.

Estimated delivery times for Standard Shipping:

Metro Melbourne: 2–5 business days
Other cities and large towns in VIC: 3–6 business days
Metro Sydney: 3–7 business days
Other interstate locations: 4–14 business days

The default shipping method is Signature Required (SR), unless Authority to Leave (ATL) is selected at checkout. If no one is home with SR, parcels will be taken to your local Post Office. If ATL is selected, we are not responsible for replacement costs if the parcel goes missing.

Beautiful but not practical

Came flat-packed, but not varnished or made for exterior use. It's a kennel. Expected the materials to be weatherproof at a minimum, especially at this price.

So cute!

We just bought a new house and thought the pups needed an upgrade as well. It's actually pretty hard to find a dog kennel that is modern and nice to look at, this one suits our new house perfectly. I gave it two coats with an exterior paint to give it some extra protection from the elements and am really pleased with how it turned out, only took an hour or two and definitely recommend this extra step after assembling it. Dogs now sleep in it and seem happy, and I think having a slightly enclosed interior will be good in winter when it gets a bit more chilly.

Cheap and poor construction

Do not buy this kennel. It is not weather proof, very light weight, poorly constructed and not suitable for a medium to large dog

We’re sorry to hear about the issues you’ve experienced. Our Nordic dog house is made from solid fir wood, which, although lightweight, is well suited for outdoor environments. Fir wood is resistant to fungal and insect infestation and is highly durable when exposed to the elements. To better understand and address the water leakage, could you please provide our customer care team with more details? Specifically, is the water getting in through the ventilation holes, or do you suspect an issue with the roof capping? Further feedback may help us find a solution.
